Winter 2011 Update!

The Eastend garden is well and alive. We had a great 2010 and are looking forward to spring 2011! Although we did not use this site last year, we will try to do so more next year, so please stay tuned!

Fall Harvest and Clean Up

We have started to harvest what is left in the garden and clean up the lot. Last Saturday we pulled almost everything up save the carrots and the collard greens, which are still growing. We had a lot of green tomatoes!

We will be working again this Saturday at 1pm. Please feel free to stop by!

Garden on CDTV!

We recently did an interview with the Mayor for the September edition of his program "Our Town With The Mayor." It was a lot of fun to do and we appreciate him giving us the spotlight. The video airs several times a day and will be on CDTV for about a month. You can also access it by going to the CDTV web page on the City of Dearborn's website. We are the second interview in the program.

Despite the on and off drizzling we all had a great time taking the photo for the calendar. Here are some nice pictures of the day. These pictures don't give away the calendar shot, so you'll have to wait :)

Garden to be in City of Dearborn Calendar

Great news! Our garden has been chosen to be in the city calendar for next year! We are taking our group photo this Saturday at 4pm.

Also this past Friday we had an interview with Mayor O'Reilly that will be featured during his show on CDTV.

Rain Barrels Needed

Have a few 55 gallon drum barrels laying around that you need get out of your backyard? We are looking to make a water reclamation system on a neighbor's garage. The barrels will help us save water and keep our garden going strong. If anyone is willing to donate please leave a comment. Thanks!
